Arnan Raz

Arnan Raz is an Israeli-born, Brooklyn-based tenor saxophonist and composer whose band blends jazz with Cuban rhythms, Israeli sounds and Middle Eastern melodies: warm horns, groovy percussion and strong melodies that get people moving. Raised on Kibbutz Merchavia and trained at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Raz has released three albums as a leader (Second to the Left, Chains of Stories and 7 Days) and co-leads the saxophone quartet The Side Project. At Birds he'll be presenting new music for the first time.
